Yesterday, I found this cover design on a tumblr fairy tales blog (which has proved great for resources and inspiration) for a book of Russian Fairy Tales. I think the simple, vector-like design style and minimal colour palette for the cover works incredibly well, and, given my time on the project again, I would have much preferred to have made illustrative designs like these with a charming, folk, Eastern-European illustrative graphic style. Really cool style, and far more focused than the illustrative style I'm currently working on (see my Design Practice blog for current progress and design developments).
